Permaculture Design Course
Chestnut Farm is one of the the venues for the annual Ballarat Permaculture Guild PDC, which usually starts in late January and runs over 8 weekends until June/July. To sign up for the Ballarat Permaculture Guild PDC go to the BPG website! The course has a focus on cool temperate permaculture and a strongly local flavour. We have a wide range of presenters and the course includes lots of group work, discussion and time for questioning and reflection. Site visits are to both urban & rural properties and all students participate in groups to produce working permaculture designs on assigned sites. The refreshments are great and the conversations even better!
Chestnut Farm is also the venue for other short courses, mostly run by the Ballarat Permaculture Guild. Courses or workshops include topics as diverse as grafting and a rocket stove weekend.
Some years, Steve also runs a Forest Garden weekend. These have been suspended during COVID and our current (2022) building program but may resume in late 2023.
There are also opportunities for locals to help out on jobs like gardening or building, where you want to build your skills or experience. Contact Steve for more information. 🙂 Phone 0409 551 539 or email email@example.com.
